We had to rent a crane from  60 miles away capable of lifting the limb off the house without damaging the roof further.  We had been lucky, I guess, only seven punctures to the roof, and just two rafters broken. But of course, after weeks of drought, the days after it fell were rainy.  Slow going, but we are safe, and our strong old house will carry on.       For a view of the original damage, click here
