Cowboy Action Shooting

Contestants use “Cowboy” (or Cowgirl) names and dress western, but  jeans, boots and cowboy hats will do.  Replica and antique firearms of the kind produced before 1899 are used.  They include single action revolvers,  lever action or slide action rifles  and double barrel and slide action shotguns  Pistols and rifle ammunition  is moderate velocity lead bullets.  Shotguns use lead shot.  First they shoot with a rifle, then pick up their pistols, and finish with shotguns. The shooters are timed, and judged for accuracy.
