Whale Trapped in Cane River!
Natchitoches rescue squads are puzzled as to how the leviathan got trapped in this narrow shallow river that is several hundred miles from the Gulf. The mayor says every effort is being made to keep the giant mammal safe and well fed. So far, it is thriving on Natchitoches meat pies, but even the abundance of that food here has the city council worried. They have marked it with buoys and plan to make it part of the decorations for our Christmas Festival.
